MAY 20 2023
PARADE 11 to noon
PORCH PERFORMANCES 2 to 10pm
PORCHFEST PARADE & ORCHESTRA
an experiment in communal pageantry and DIY orchestration.
ANYONE CAN JOIN! If you can clap to Happy Birthday, you're fit for our orchestra!
JUST SHOW UP ON MAY 20!
THE CONCEPTION Our orchestra has 4-sections (melody, strings/chords, percussion, bass). Each section begins in a different corner of town, performing a short repeating theme. They will then march from their respective corner to Wenonah Park, where all sections unite.
THE MUSIC The Porchfest theme is a very short original piece, incorporating 4 simple parts, composed by Wenonah's own First Gentleman Mike Doheny. It was conceived with amateurs and non-musicians in mind.
